Pink and Yellow Earrings

Start a ladder stitch with two TOHO Aiko 11/0 galvanized aluminum precision cylinder seed beads, as shown in Fig. 1 of the Sunset Chevrons PDF Diagram.

Create an increasing brick stitch on top of your starting ladder stitch row, using an aluminum Aiko, a TOHO Aiko 11/0 opaque matte butterscotch precision cylinder seed bead, and another aluminum Aiko (Shown in Fig. 2 of the PDF Diagram).

Continue to create increasing brick stitch rows, following the color pattern in Fig. 3, Fig. 4, and Fig. 5. We used TOHO Aiko 11/0 opaque peachy pink luster precision cylinder seed beads and TOHO Aiko 11/0 opauqe sunset orange precision cylinder seed beads for the pink and orange beads in this pattern.

You will start to make one side of your chevron for the next row. Start with an increasing brick stitch using two aluminum Aiko beads, as shown in Fig. 6 of the PDF diagram. Then, continue the brick stitch with four butterscotch Aiko beads and one aluminum Aiko bead. Here you will start the next row of brick stitch on a decrease. Add the beads for this row as shown in Fig. 6 of the diagram.

Continue creating this side of the chevron using increasing and decreasing brick stitch techniques with the color pattern shown in Fig. 7 of the PDF diagram. When you've added the final three rows of two aluminum Aiko beads, add just a single Aiko bead to the top row, as shown in Fig. 8 of the diagram. Go down through the other Aiko in the previous row, back up through the first Aiko in the previous row and then back through the seed bead in the last row. Weave your thread back into the beads to secure it.

Bead Weaving Basics: Starting, Adding, and Ending Thread

Weave your thread down to the inside of the chevron and repeat steps 4 and 5 to make the other side of your chevron.

Your thread should be coming out of the single Aiko bead at the top of one side of your chevron, to the inside of your chevron. Add an aluminum Aiko bead and go through the single bead at the top of the other side of your chevron, as shown in Fig. 10 of the diagram. Add two aluminum Aiko beads to the thread, and then loop your thread through a ball end earwire. Bring your thread back down through the second Aiko bead on your thread. Add another Aiko bead to the thread and go through the outside of the single Aiko bead at the top of your chevron where you started. Loop through all of the beads to reinforce.

Use the tail of your thread coming out of the beads in the very first ladder stitch row you created and Add a single aluminum Aiko bead, as shown in Fig. 9 of the diagram. Loop back around through the beads in the previous row and come back through the aluminum Aiko bead. Weave your thread back into the beads.

Weave thread into your earrings to reinforce the outside edges, if desired. The beads to the outside of each increasing row are not really attached to the beads below them, so you may want to weave through again to add some stability.

Repeat these steps to make your other earring.

Yellow, Orange, and Oxblood Earrings

Use the same techniques from the diagram to make this other pair of earrings. The diagram includes a color pattern for you to follow. We used TOHO Aiko 11/0 opaque frosted oxblood precision cylinder seed beads for the dark background and the same sunset orange and butterscotch Aiko beads from the other earrings.
