Midnight Oasis Bracelet

Use a big eye needle to string the 6mm Crystal Iridescent Dark Blue round pearls, the Dakota Stones 6mm orange sodalite round beads, the 6mm dark blue round Mother of Pearl beads, and the Dakota Stones goldstone 6mm round beads onto your crochet thread in a random pattern. We used size 10 crochet thread, a size E 4-3.5mm crochet hook, and 85 beads for our bracelet. It doesn't hurt to string more than necessary, because when you cut your thread, you can always remove the beads you don't need.

Give yourself about a 6-8 inch tail, then create about 8-9 stitched of chain stitch. Refer to our Crochet with Beads video tutorial to learn this stitch. You will later fold these stitches into the button shank.

Add a bead to the stitch, then create five empty stitches. Repeat this manner for the length of your bracelet. Our bracelet is about four feet long.

Once your bracelet is the desired length, remove the crochet hook, holding the loop with a twist tie. Do not cut the thread from the ball of crochet thread yet.

Go back to the start of your bracelet and thread the first few empty stitches you created through the shank of the JBB 17.4mm antique copper-plated pewter round floral button. Use a needle to weave and knot the end of the thread into the existing stitches to secure the button. You can also secure the end with a dab of adhesive.

Test the length of your bracelet by wrapping it around your wrist for the desired number of wraps. The button and loop need to meet comfortably. You will make a series of about 9-10 empty stitches to create the loop for the button, so at this point you will need to decide if you need to add more beads or remove some. If you decide to add more beads for a better length but don't have them already on the thread, you can cut the thread from the ball and add more beads from the end. Just make sure to account for enough thread to also make the empty stitches.

When the length is how you want it, add 9-10 empty stitches to create the loop. Cut the stand of crochet thread from the ball and thread it through the loop to secure the stitching.

Fold the empty stitches in half to form a loop and then use a needle to weave the tail into the existing stitches, as you did at the other end of the bracelet. Knot the thread and add a dab of adhesive for extra security if necessary.
