This is an inspiration project using some of the many components available in a DIY jewelry making kit from The Bead Llama. Remember, beads will vary in each kit, so choose the beads you like the best in your kit to make this design your own.
Refer to your Technique Guide [pdf] and our online technique videos for extra help.
Add 3 seed beads, a focal bead, and 3 seed beads to an eye pin. For our design, we used an orange fire-polish bead for the focal bead. Make a simple loop at the end of the eye pin, close to the last bead added (see our technique guide for further help).
Repeat step 1 five times (we’ll call these components Link A).
Repeat step 1 six more times, this time using a different focal bead. We used a cream pearl bead (we’ll call these components Link B).
Cut a length of stretch cord long enough to fit around your wrist, plus extra length for easy knotting. Add a bead stopper to one end of the cord (see our technique guide for further help).
Add two seed beads, a fire-polished bead, and two seed beads to the cord. Slide a loop of Link A onto the cord.
Repeat step 5, this time adding the loop of Link B onto the cord.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 five more times. Add two seed beads, a fire-polished bead, and two seed beads to the cord.
Secure the stretch bracelet with a surgeon’s knot (see our technique guide for further help). Add glue to the knot and allow to dry. Hide the tails of the cord in the beads if possible and trim with scissors or cutters.
Repeat steps 4-8. Instead of adding new links to this bracelet, add the loops on the other end of the links already attached to your first bracelet strand.
Note: Please make sure to double check our list of components with what's actually in stock on the supplies tab.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
