Pre-Stringing Beads for Crochet Video Tutorial
Simple Crochet with Beads Tutorial Video
Create a single chain stitch with approximately 16-22 plain or empty links (a stitch without a bead), depending on the desired width of the pouch. When you have reached the last stitch, you will turn back on your chain and skip over one chain. Then, put your hook through the next chain back. Before grabbing the thread slide one seed bead all of the way down the thread, then bring your thread back through the hole and complete your double stitch.
Do not flip your work when you get to the turn, continue the stitch, going around in circles from the inside of the pouch pulling the thread inward. Add a seed bead or a crystal to each stitch as you go as you see fit. Once the pouch is as tall as you want it to be, stop at one side and begin the single chain for the necklace part, pulling beads into stitches periodically until the desired length is reached. Then, attach to the other side of the pouch by cutting your thread with a long tail (3-4 feet). Then, start weaving through the top layer of stitches.
The dangles at the bottom were added on after everything else was finished, but were all strung using the same tail thread. Weaving it through the pouch to get it to the bottom just reinforces the pouch. Use a separate piece of thread to weave through the top of the pouch for the drawstring that loops around the button for a closure.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
