Tassels are a fun embellishment to add to your designs. Making them couldn't be easier, but you might be looking for a simple way to finish them. This tutorial will show you how to finish your tassels by wrapping cord around the top. With this technique, you don't need wire or end caps, just the cord you already have

Make a tassel with the Beadalon tassel maker tool. Watch this video tutorial to learn how to use the tool. Once you have made your tassel, tie it off at the top of the tassel, where the cords are folded.

Wrapping a Tassel Step 1

Cut approximately a one-foot length of cord and form a loop/bend at the folded end of the tassel. We used a cord in a different color so it's easier to see, but you can use cord of the same color if you wish.

Position the loop of the tassel and hold it with your thumb on the tassel as shown.

Wrap the long end of the cord around the tassel. Make sure to also wrap this long end around the short end of the same cord. Wrap from the top of the tassel toward the loop.

Thread the long end of the wrapping cord through the loop.

Pull the short end of the wrapping cord until the loop is at the top edge of the wrap but still hidden.

Do not trim the tail on the short end. Use a needle or tweezers to tuck it inside the head of the tassel. You can trim or tuck the long end, or if the wrap is the same color as the tassel, trim it to the tassel length.
