Our designers enjoyed playing with Gilders Paste to add color to the metal links in this vintage-style necklace. Gilders Paste can be rubbed into metal and allowed to dry, providing plenty of creative options. This necklace uses purple and blue-green paste with matching crystals for a touch of color and sparkle that complement the antique brass.
Accent the antique vintage brass-plated pewter four petal flower toggle clasp and the three antique brass altar links with Gilders Paste. We rubbed the paste into the metal with our fingers. For the main section of the links we used African bronze. For the flowers we used patina first and let that dry, then layered iris blue and violet on top. For the flower centers we used German silver.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
