This bracelet is a great project to try out the DiamonDuo Beads.
On dark nights, stars twinkle like sapphires This bracelet looks like a mysterious night sky glinting with the magical sparkle of far-off stars. DiamonDuo beads provide fabulous dimension, while crystal beads in a gleaming Jet color add to the dark look.
Cut approximately two yards of stringing material. Add a stopper bead, leaving a tail about 8-12 inches long for creating your closure.
Refer to the Sapphire Night Diagram PDF for the pattern for this bracelet. Bring your thread through the bottom stringing hole of a DiamonDuo 5x8mm jet matte Czech glass 2-hole bead (#1 on the diagram), then through a 4mm bicone in Jet (2) and the bottom stringing hole of another matte jet DiamonDuo (3). Bring your thread up and to the left through the top stringing hole of the same bead (3). Add the bottom stringing hole of a DiamonDuo 5x8mm Mykonos blue Czech glass 2-hole bead (4) to your thread, then go through the top stringing hole of the first matte jet DiamonDuo bead (1).
Add a bicone (5) to your thread, then go through the bottom stringing hole of a matte jet DiamonDuo bead (6). Bring your thread through the top stringing hole of bead 4, then go through the bottom stringing hole of a matte jet DiamonDuo bead (7). Add another bicone (8) to the thread. Go back through the top stringing hole of bead 3, the bottom stringing hole of bead 4, the top stringing hole of bead 1 and up through bead 5. Then, go through the bottom stringing hole of bead 6, the top hole of bead4 and the bottom hole of bead 7. Repeat the bead pattern laid out in the PDF until your bracelet is the desired length, keeping in mind that the clasp will add about half of an inch.
At the end of your bracelet, your thread should be exiting out of the top hole of the last DiamonDuo bead on the edge. Add five TOHO 15/0 matte jet bead rounds to the thread and then go through the first bicone on this edge of your bracelet. Add five more seed beads and go through the next bicone. Repeat in this manner to finish both edges of the bracelet.
When you have added seed beads to both sides of the bracelet, your thread should be coming out of the bicone at one end. Add three seed beads, a 12mm rivoli button in Jet, and three more seed beads. Go back through the bicone and loop your thread through the beads and the button to strengthen the hold. Secure and trim your thread.
Remove your stopper bead and use the tail at the other end of your bracelet to create the loop closure for your bracelet. Make sure your thread is exiting out of the bicone on this end of the bracelet. Add three seed beads, a bicone, and about 31 seed beads. Go back through the bicone you added and add three more seed beads. Go back through the end bicone on the bracelet. Make sure that the loop fits the button closure nicely before going back through the beads to reinforce the loop. Secure and trim your thread.
