Bracelet

String all of your beads onto the TOHO Amiet fine beading thread in peach variegated. Cheri used Henrietta's Gum Arabic bead and knot glue to stiffen the end of the thread so that the beads would slide on easier. She repeated a sequence of six of the smaller beads ending with a 8mm round crystal pearl in Cream. The pattern of small beads varies, but she made sure to always string on three Rizo beads in the middle of the sequence. Repeat this sequence for the desired length (our bracelet repeats this sequence ten times). It doesn't hurt to add more beads than necessary, because when you cut your thread, you can always remove the beads you don't need. Cheri finished her strand with this pattern of beads:

• One Czech glass 18mm orange spiny oyster opaque mix with dark bronze wash fossil bead
• One 4mm round crystal pearl in Cream
• One fossil bead
• One 4mm pearl
• One fossil bead
• One Czech glass 3x5mm transparent emerald with Picasso finish faceted roundel bead
• One Czech glass 4mm Halo Ethereal Sandalwood fire-polished bead
• One Rizo 2.5x6mm Czech glass bead in peridot vitrail
• One Rizo 2.5x6mm Czech glass bead in Capri gold
• One peridot vitrail Rizo
• One Sandalwood fire-polished bead

Cheri strung on 22 ½ inches of beads. Once your beads are added, make sure to leave a 6-inch tail at the end of the thread. Make sure to work on the spool of TOHO Amiet thread. Our bracelet used ten feet of cord total after being crocheted.

Use a size E4 3.5mm crochet hook to crochet with the beads. Start with two empty stitches (stitches with no beads) and then add your first bead to the stitch. Make two empty stitches between each bead, except for the Rizo beads. The Rizo beads will have four empty stitches on each side and each sequence of three Rizos will be added to a stitch as one bead. Continue crocheting until your bracelet is the desired length, keeping in mind the button clasp and loop will add about ¾ of an inch in length.

Once your bracelet is the desired length, add 18 empty chains of the stitch to create your loop (you should be working on the opposite end of your fossil beads). Tie the strand off by removing the crochet hook and threading the tail through the loop left by the hook. This chain of stitches will become the loop for the button closure.

Add the TierraCast brass oxide pewter oval shell button to the other end of the bracelet (the fossil bead end) by looping the tail of thread around the button holes. Knot and weave the tail back into the stitch.,

Earrings

Slide a fossil bead onto a TierraCast 2-inch 20 gauge brass oxide pewter head pin and make a simple loop at the top of the bead.

Slide a 4mm round pearl in Cream onto a head pin and make a simple loop at the top of the bead.

Open an 8mm 18g brass jump ring with patina finish and add the fossil dangle and the pearl dangle. Attach this jump ring to a hole on a TierraCast button. Close the jump ring.

Slide a Czech faceted roundel bead and a 4mm fire-polished bead onto a head pin and make a wrapped loop at the top of the beads.

Open a jump ring and add this dangle to the jump ring. Then, add the jump ring to the other hole on your TierraCast button.

Attach a Vintaj natural brass 1.5-inch 21 gauge eye pin to the top of this jump ring. Then, add a Czech glass faceted roundel and a 4mm pearl to the eye pin. Make a simple loop at the top of the beads.

Open the loop of the antique brass-plated plain earwire and attach it to the top of the eye pin. Close the loop.

Repeat these steps to make the other earring.
