Pineapples are so cute and make wonderful style accessories, especially for summer. I enjoyed coming up with the pattern for this brick stitch pineapple. Yum!
TOHO Treasure seed beads are cylinder seed beads that line up beautifully in popular seed bead stitches, like brick stitch. They come in amazingly vibrant colors, so you can create eye-catching cuties like this pineapple. Becky came up with the pattern using our free seed bead graph paper. You can follow the instructions to make a pineapple like hers or print off some graph paper and come up with your own creation.
Working with a comfortable length of thread, add a stopper bead. The stopper bead will help you keep track of orientation when you are flipping your project.
To start the brick stitch, make a ladder stitch with one TOHO Treasure 11/0 galvanized starlight seed bead, one TOHO Treasure 11/0 transparent light hyacinth seed bead, four starlight Treasures, one light hyacinth Treasure, and one starlight Treasure. You will start building your pineapple up toward the top. Refer to the Pineapple Paradise PDF Diagram at any time for help with color placement.
Continue the second row with an increasing brick stitch on both ends, using one starlight Treasure, two TOHO Treasure 11/0 opaque-lustered dandelion seed beads, one starlight Treasure, one dandelion Treasure, one starlight Treasure, two dandelion Treasures, and one starlight Treasure.

Weave through the 23rd row until you are coming out of the last bead in that row. Add a silver-lined green bead and loop back through the last bead in the row. The 26th row is increasing on both ends, using one silver-lined green, one frosted green, two silver-lined green, two frosted green, and a silver-lined green Treasure. Use the ladder stitch to add an extra frosted green Treasure to the end of this row.

Once your piece is complete, you can stitch a pin back onto the back or incorporate it into your jewelry in other ways (try earrings)
