The pendant for this necklace was made with a small section of 2-drop peyote stitch. This is a fun way to practice a new stitch or to use up some leftover beads you may have from another project. Cheri used an Artbeads Designer Seed Bead Blend for this project and she'll have plenty of beads leftover to make matching earrings and a bracelet. See more inspiration for using Designer Seed Bead Blends in your designs in this Artbeads Cafe episode.
Start an even-count 2-drop peyote stitch sample by stringing 12 seed beads from the Artbeads Honeybee Meadow Designer Blend onto your thread. Use two beads of one color, two beads of another color, and so on for the first row. These beads will become the first two rows of your focal. To learn how to create an even-count 2-drop peyote stitch, take a look at our video tutorial. Continue the 2-drop peyote stitch until the focal is 10 rows long. Match the color pattern of the first rows for the next two to create squares of color. Then, you will switch up the colors for the next rows to create a patchwork look.

Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
