O beads make great embellishments in seed bead designs. I used them as accents for these bracelets to show you how it's done.
Use O beads in all new ways by learning how to make these bracelets. These peyote stitch stunners receive unique embellishments in the form of O beads paired with TOHOs in colors that match the bracelets perfectly. These bracelets are the perfect way to add more color to your style
Start an odd-count peyote stitch bracelet five beads wide using the TOHO Reflection 8/0 beads in neon green. Stitch the bracelet until it is the desired length. Our bracelet is 6 3/4 inches long, not counting the button and loop.
Position your thread so that it is exiting out of the center bead in the last row. Add a 3.8x1mm Czech glass jet vitrail o bead to your thread, followed by a TOHO 11/0 bead round in opaque shiny jet black. Bring your thread back down through the O bead and sew the embellishment into place over the center bead. Skip a center row bead, then add an O bead and shiny jet black TOHO to the next center bead. Continue this pattern all the way down the center of your bracelet.
When you reach the center bead at the other end of your bracelet, add two black TOHOs to your thread, followed by a 12mm rivoli button in Crystal Volcano and two more black TOHOs. Bring your needle back through the center bead and pass through the TOHOs and the button several times, making sure the thread is tight and secure. Secure and trim your thread.
Start a new thread on the other end of your bracelet, exiting out of the center bead. Add 23 black TOHOs to the thread. Bring your needle back down through the center bead. Make sure your loop fits nicely around the button before continuing. Then, pass through the loop three more times, making sure the thread is tight and secure. Secure and trim your thread.
Start an odd-count peyote stitch bracelet 15 beads wide using the Miyuki 11/0 opaque semi-matte dark lavender Delicas. Continue stitching for 36 rows. Then, use the Miyuki 11/0 trans matte dark burgundy Delicas to stitch the next 13 rows. Follow this pattern to create the remaining color block:
18 rows of Miyuki 11/0 trans matte medium amethyst Delicas
10 rows of Miyuki 11/0 trans matte dark amethyst Delicas
10 rows of the dark lavender Delicas
24 rows of the dark burgundy Delicas
10 rows of the medium amethyst Delicas
30 rows of the dark lavender Delicas
13 rows of the dark amethyst Delicas
10 rows of the medium amethyst Delicas
28 rows of the dark burgundy Delicas
If you make your bracelet shorter or longer, you will have to adjust the color block pattern accordingly.
Weave your thread to the closest color block transition in your bracelet, so that it is exiting out of the bead in the row where the color changes. Add a 3.8x1mm Czech glass peridot matte vitrail O bead to your thread, followed by a TOHO 11/0 bead round in marbled lavender rose. Bring your needle back down through the O bead and the center bead in the row. Sew the embellishment into place. Weave your thread two beads over in the row and sew another O bead and TOHO into place in the same manner. Weave your thread two beads over on the other side of the center O bead and add another embellishment to this bead in the row. Repeat this step for every place in the pattern where two color blocks meet up.
Weave your thread through the bracelet so that it is exiting out of the third bead in the last row. Add two dark burgundy Delicas to the thread, followed by a Crystal Volcano rivoli and two more dark burgundy Delicas. Bring your thread through the sixth bead in the last row. Weave your thread back to the start of your button and pass through it several times, making sure the thread is tight and secure. Secure and trim your thread.
Start a new thread on the other end of the bracelet, exiting out of the third bead in the last row. Add two dark burgundy Delicas to your thread, followed by an O bead and 24 more dark burgundy Delicas. Pass your needle back through the O bead and the first two Delicas. Make sure your loop fits nicely around the button before continuing. Then, bring your needle through the center bead in the last row. Add two dark burgundy Delicas to your thread, then go back up through the O bead and the loop. Come back down through the two new Delicas you just added and take your needle through the fifth bead in the last row. Weave your thread through the bracelet and back up through your loop several more times to strengthen it. Secure and trim your thread.
