The colorful DiamonDuo Mini Beads in this bracelet remind me of stained glass found in a grand cathedral. They really pop on a neutral background.
You can create something special with DiamonDuo Mini Beads. They are a more compact version of DiamonDuo beads. They still feature two stringing holes, just like their larger counterparts, so they are fun to weave with. Cheri used the DiamonDuo Mini Beads in this scaled down version of her Sapphire Night bracelet. She even created a fun button with the beads to match the rest of the bracelet.
Cut approximately two yards of stringing material. Add a stopper bead, leaving a tail about 8-12 inches long.
Refer to fig. 1 of the Notre Dame Diagram PDF for the pattern for this bracelet. Bring your thread through the bottom stringing hole of a DiamonDuo Mini 4x6mm Chalk Champagne Czech Glass 2-Hole Bead (#1 on the diagram), then through a 3mm faceted round in Crystal Golden Shadow (2) and the bottom stringing hole of another champagne DiamonDuo Mini (3). Bring your thread up and to the left through the top stringing hole of the same bead (3). Add the bottom stringing hole of a DiamonDuo Mini 4x6mm Prismatic Phoenix Czech glass 2-hole bead (4) to your thread, then go through the top stringing hole of the first champagne DiamonDuo bead (1).
Add a faceted round (5) to your thread, then go through the bottom stringing hole of a champagne DiamonDuo bead (6). Bring your thread through the top stringing hole of bead 4, then go through the bottom stringing hole of a champagne DiamonDuo bead (7). Add another faceted round (8) to the thread. Go back through the top stringing hole of bead 3, the bottom stringing hole of bead 4, the top stringing hole of bead 1 and up through bead 5. Then, go through the bottom stringing hole of bead 6, the top hole of bead 4 and the bottom hole of bead 7. Repeat the bead pattern laid out in the PDF until your bracelet is the desired length, keeping in mind that the clasp will add about an inch.
At the end of your bracelet, your thread should be exiting out of the top hole of the last DiamonDuo bead on the edge. Add four TOHO 15/0 light ivory Ceylon bead rounds to the thread and then go through the first faceted round on this edge of your bracelet, as shown in fig. 2 of the PDF Diagram. Add five more seed beads and go through the next faceted round. Repeat in this manner to finish both edges of the bracelet.
Follow fig. 3 through fig. 8 of the Notre Dame PDF Diagram to make the beaded button for your closure:
Add the bottom hole of a phoenix DiamonDuo to your thread, followed by the top hole of another phoenix DiamonDuo, as shown in fig. 3. Add the bottom hole of another DiamonDuo. Add four seed beads to the thread, and then go through the top hole of the last DiamonDuo added. Add the bottom hole of another DiamonDuo. Go through the top hole of the first DiamonDuo added. Add four seed beads, and go back through the bottom hole. Loop around through the top hole of the next DiamonDuo bead, and the bottom hole of the next one. Go back through the first four seed beads and the adjoining holes of the next DiamonDuo beads, until you are coming out of the top hole of the first DiamonDuo bead.
Add a faceted round, as shown in fig. 4 of the diagram. Go through the top hole of the top DiamonDuo and add another faceted round. Loop through the bottom hole of the DiamonDuo and back through the first faceted round and the top hole of the DiamonDuo. Add five seed beads and loop back around through the top hole of the DiamonDuo.
Go through the adjoining faceted round, as shown in fig. 5 of the diagram. Go through the adjoining four seed beads and through the bottom hole of the adjoining DiamonDuo. Go through the top hole of the next DiamonDuo and the bottom hole of the DiamonDuo after that. Add a faceted round and go through the bottom hole of the bottom DiamonDuo. Add another faceted round and go through the bottom hole of the side DiamonDuo. Loop around through the top hole of the next DiamonDuo, the bottom hole of the next one, and then back through the first faceted round added.
Add five seed beads, as shown in fig. 6 of the diagram. Loop around through the bottom hole of the bottom DiamonDuo and back through the seed beads.
Loop around through all outer beads of the button, as shown in fig. 7 of the diagram, until you come back out of the first faceted round you go through.
Weave your thread so that it is coming out of the top hole of the side DiamonDuo on the back side, as shown in fig. 8 of the diagram. Go through the bottom hole of the top DiamonDuo. Add three seed beads and loop around through the same hole, so the seed beads form a loop. Go through the top hole of the adjoining DiamonDuo and then go through the bottom hole of the same bead. Go through the top hole of the bottom DiamonDuo. Add three seed beads and loop around through the same hole, forming another loop. Weave and finish off your thread.
With your thread coming out of the faceted round at the end of your bracelet, add three seed beads and bring your thread through the two loops at the back of your beaded button, as shown in fig. 9 of the diagram. Add three more seed beads and go back through the faceted round. Loop your thread through the beads and the button to strengthen the hold. Secure and trim your thread.
Remove your stopper bead and use the tail at the other end of your bracelet to create the loop closure for your bracelet. Make sure your thread is exiting out of the faceted round on this end of the bracelet, as shown in fig. 10 of the diagram. Add three seed beads, a faceted round, and about 27 seed beads. Go back through the round you added and add three more seed beads. Go back through the end faceted round on the bracelet. Make sure that the loop fits the button closure nicely before going back through the beads to reinforce the loop. Secure and trim your thread.
