Dream in Green

Follow the instructions for making an open back peyote stitch bezel. Use 64 Miyuki 11/0 galvanized semi-matte champagne Delicas to start your first row. Form a circle with the thread and knot in place. Add another row of 11/0 Delicas using the techniques in the tutorial. You will now have three rows.

Peyote Stitch Bezel Tutorial

Add one row of TOHO 15/0 bead rounds in galvanized rose gold to the peyote stitch bezel. This will be the top of the ring bezel. When you get to the end of the row, pinch the circle to form a V and skip adding the last bead. Instead, just run your thread through the next Delica. The V shape will not really hold at this point but don't worry; it will hold better when you come around with the next row of beads.

Add a second row of 15/0 rose gold TOHOs. When you get to the V, add a seed bead so that it nestles in the V. Circle through the V if necessary to tighten it up.

Weave your thread (or tie off and add more if necessary) so that it is positioned to the back side of the ring bezel, just to one side of the V point. On this side of the bezel, add a row of 15/0 seed beads, just as you did on the top side.

Place the 30mm fancy pearl in Crystal Royal Green Shiny into the bezel, with the shiny side facing out of the top of the bezel. Create another row on the back side of the bezel following this pattern of beads:

• Three rose gold TOHOs
• Eight 11/0 Delicas
• Eight rose gold TOHOs
• Eight 11/0 Delicas
• Three rose gold TOHOs
• One rose gold TOHO to nest in the V shape

For the third row on the back of the bezel, follow this pattern:

• Skip through a bead
• Add a rose gold TOHO
• Skip through a bead
• Add three11/0 Delicas
• Skip through a bead
• Add three 11/0 Delicas
• Skip through a bead and then add a rose gold TOHO (repeat three times)
• Skip through a bead
• Add three 11/0 Delicas
• Skip through a bead
• Add three 11/0 Delicas
• Skip through a bead
• Add a rose gold TOHO .

Add three rose gold TOHOs to close up the V. The back of your bezel should look like the picture below.

Build the sides of the ring using the pattern outlined in the Dream In Green Diagram PDF below. Depending on your finger size, you may need to stop short on the pattern or continue it out longer. Once it is the desired length, do not stitch the ends of the bands together just yet. Each side should look like the picture.

Reinforce the inside of the band by adding Delicas as shown in the picture and cinch through previous beads as you go. This will help to keep the back edge of the ring band (near the round end of the pear) under the bezel.

When you are sure of the proper fit of your band, zip up the ends by stitching them together. Your ring is now ready to wear.
