Blue Leather Wrap Bracelet with Square and Fire-Polish Czech Glass Beads
designed byCheri Carlson
Approximate Size6 3/4-7 3/4 Inches
Wrap bracelets can be made with all kinds of beads. Here I used fire-polished beads along with square laser-etched beads for a unique display of style.
Wrap bracelets are a fun way to showcase beautiful beads. Cheri paired up different Czech glass styles in coordinating blue shades in this lovely design. You can make this bracelet as long or as short as you like. The technique is easy, so you'll want to keep going and going. See more inspiration for creating wrap bracelets in this Artbeads Cafe episode.
String the TierraCast antique silver-plated pewter Czech square button onto the center of a two-foot length of 1.5mm natural blue round leather. Fold the leather in half so the button rests in the center of the fold and tie an overhand knot with the two strands of leather. The button should be at the top of your knot.
Position your leather on a macrame board for easy working. The button end should be pinned in place at the top of the board and you can add the two ends of leather to two slots at the bottom of the board. Work with a comfortable amount of thread on a needle to add beads to your wrap bracelet. We used a double-strand of thread for this bracelet. We used a double-strand of thread for this bracelet. Knot the thread to the leather, right below the knot in the leather. Cover the knot with a few wraps of thread. Then, secure by running your needle under the wraps, so the thread comes out between the two strands of leather.
For the first row, add one True2 fire-polish faceted Micro Beads 2x3mm in chalk blue luster. Add two fire-polish beads for the second row.
For the subsequent rows of your bracelet, create one row of three fire-polish beads and then use one Czech glass matte blue opaline with rainbow finish laser-etched 2-hole square bead for the next two rows. Repeat this pattern as many times needed to make your bracelet long enough to fit your wrist, keeping in mind the closure adds about 1 3/4 inches of length.
Once you have as many rows as needed, finish with a row of two fire-polish beads and then a row of one fire-polish bead. Wrap your thread several times around the two cords of leather at the end of your bracelet and knot it. Create an overhand knot in the leather to finish your bracelet. Create another knot in the leather about an inch away from your first knot to create a loop for your button. If you finish your bracelet and find you would like to add more length, you can add more loops with knots to the tail. Trim the tail to your liking.

Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown
below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from
the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up
the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color
scheme—it’s up to you!
