Since Living Coral is Pantone's 2019 Color of the Year, Cynthia wanted to make something to celebrate this lively hue. Coming from an island, living coral is something that has always inspired her. This necklace showcases a crystal starfish pendant and Czech glass beads in coral tones. Cynthia made this necklace during a Facebook Live design challenge. You can watch her make this bracelet and more jewelry here.
Cut a 4-inch length of jewelry wire. Slide the 28mm starfish pendant in Crystal Astral Pink onto the center of the wire. Add five TOHO Demi Round 8/0 beads in metallic gold to one side of the starfish. On the other side, add one Demi Round and three TOHO 8/0 bead rounds in silver-lined milky grapefruit. Then add one Demi Round and one grapefruit round seed bead (repeat four times). Bring both ends of the wire through a 14K/20 gold-filled 2x2mm crimp tube in opposite directions to form a beaded bail. Tighten so the beads are snug together and flatten the crimp tube in place with chain nose pliers.

Repeat this pattern eight times, then slide on your pendant. Then, repeat the bead pattern nine times. Add a Demi Round, a grapefruit seed bead, and a Demi Round to finish the strand.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
