This necklace looks like something a luxurious Grecian princess would wear. I like it for fancier outfits or even for boho summer looks!
Did you know we offer TOHO seed beads and Czech glass beads plated or lined with 24 karat gold? These beautiful beads are the perfect way to add some luxury to your jewelry designs. They make quite the high-end statement when used together or you can try them as shining accents to other beads. Remember, these seed beads are available by the tube, so you'll have enough for several projects
Cut approximately three feet of TOHO One-G beading thread and attach to a beading needle. Make a ladder stitch for the first row of your brick stitch pendant using 12 TOHO 24K gold-plated 1.5mm cube seed beads.
Create the second row using an increasing brick stitch and 13 TOHO 3mm 24K gold-lined frosted crystal Bugle Beads. Create the third row using decreasing brick stitch and 12 TOHO 11/0 24K gold-lined crystal round seed beads.
Continue adding rows to the focal. We used TOHO 11/0 24K gold-lined frosted crystal round seed beads, TOHO 11/0 24K gold-plated triangle seed beads, TOHO Demi Round 11/0 24K gold-plated seed beads, and TOHO 8/0 inside-color rainbow crystal/24K gold-lined hexagon seed beads in addition to the beads used above. Note that some of the rows feature several beads in place of one, so you would put all of the beads in the sequence on the needle at once, as one bead. Here is the order of rows we used (remember you've already added the first three rows), along with the number of beads and the stitch used in each row:
Row 4: Three Demi Round beads (13 sequences, Increase)
One gold-lined frosted 11/0 round bead, one triangle, and one gold-lined frosted 11/0 bead (12 sequences, Decrease)
One Demi Round, one gold-lined frosted 11/0 round bead, one Demi Round, one Bugle bead, one Demi Round, one gold-lined frosted 11/0 round bead, and one Demi Round (12 sequences, Decrease)
Add a new thread to the focal so that it is coming out of the last cube bead in the last row. Follow the pattern of the rows to create your fringe (so, string one bead or one sequence of beads from each row). Then, for extra length, add a Demi Round, a gold-lined frosted bead, a Demi Round, a Bugle, a Demi Round, a gold-lined frosted bead, and a Demi round. Add a gold-lined crystal round, a Czech glass 6mm 24K gold-plated lentil bead, and another gold-lined crystal round. Bring your needle back up through the last Demi Round bead and the rest of the beads above that. Adjust the beads so that the tension is to your liking and the fringe drapes nicely. Bring the thread back up through the bead in your last brick stitch row. Come down through the next bead in the row and repeat this step to create another fringe piece. Repeat for all of the beads in the brick stitch row.
Start a new thread so that it is coming out of the last cube bead in the first row. String on a cube bead. Then, add a triangle, a gold-lined crystal round, a gold-lined frosted round, a gold-lined crystal round, and a triangle. Repeat this pattern until you have enough length to slip the necklace over your head. Then, add a cube bead to the strand and bring the thread through the last cube bead on the other side of the first row of brick stitch. Weave your thread through the brick stitch until you can bring your thread back around through the strand of beads to reinforce. Weave your needle back through several rows of brick stitch to secure and trim.
