Watch our video tutorial on how to do the Russian spiral stitch. You can also refer to our PDF Diagram. On a comfortable working length of thread, add one 4mm amethyst faceted round, one rose gold seed bead, one 3mm Fuchsia faceted round, one 4mm Cyclamen Opal Shimmer bicone bead, one rose gold seed bead and one 3mm Fuchsia faceted round, one 4mm Yellow Opal Shimmer bicone, one rose gold seed beand, and one 3mm Fuchsia faceted round. Form a circle with your beads by looping the thread and tie a knot if desired. Move the needle so that it is coming out between the seed bead and Fuchsia bead in one of the smaller bead pairs, as shown in Figure 1 of the PDF Diagram.

Looking forward from the needle, note the color of the next 4mm crystal bead. Pick up a bead in that same color and two smaller beads (seed bead and 3mm crystal). Pass over the noted bead and then insert the needle between it and the smaller bead after, so that the needle is coming out between the two smaller beads, as shown in Figure 2 of the PDF Diagram.
Note the color of the next 4mm crystal bead and repeat the last step for this color, as shown in Figure 3 of the PDF Diagram.
Note the color of the next 4mm crystal bead and repeat the last step for this color. This time, you will "step up" after inserting the needle between the noted bead, the next smaller bead as usual, by going through the next smaller bead, 4mm crystal bead, and smaller bead sequence after that. You should now be exiting between two smaller beads. The "step up" completes one round of the Russian spiral, as shown in Figure 6 of the PDF Diagram.
Repeat rounds of the stitch to the desired bracelet length. You will always use the 4mm Amethyst crystal in that color sequence, but you will be alternating the colors for the bicones. Alternate two rows of Yellow Opal Shimmer with two rows of Crystal Paradise Shine bicones. Alternate two rows of Cyclamen Opal with two rows of Jet AB Bicones. Also keep in mind your clasp will add about 1 3/4-inches of length.
Create a round or two of the Russian spiral stitch with all seed beads to cinch up one end of your bracelet. You may also have to decrease the number of beads used for each round to create a closed end. Once your end is satisfactory, stitch an eye pin into the center of the rope and slide an end cap over the eye pin and onto the end of your Russian spiral rope. Add a Jet AB bicone to the eye pin and make a wrapped loop at the end of the eye pin. Repeat this step on the other end of the Russian spiral rope.
Attach each half of the clasp to each end of the bracelet using a jump ring for each.
For the earrings, add a Jet AB bicone to a head pin and make a wrapped loop at the top of the bead. Repeat with a Crystal Paradise Shine bicone, a Yellow Opal Shimmer bicone, and an Amethyst faceted round, for a total of four dangles.
Add a Fine Rocks Tube bead to an eye pin and make a simple loop at the top of the bead. Attach the four dangles to the bottom of this beaded link using a large jump ring.
Add a Yellow Opal Shimmer bicone and an Amethyst faceted round to an eye pin and make a wrapped loop at the top of the beads. Attach to the top of the Fine Rocks Tube link.
Attach an earwire to the top of the Amethyst and Yellow Opal Shimmer link.
Repeat steps 8-11 to make the other earring.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
