Did you know you can add holes to TierraCast pewter items using hole punch tools? We added more holes to the luna moth pendants to create fabulous fringe earrings.
Use the Metal Complex hole punch to make 4 extra holes on the bottom of the wings of the TierraCast luna moth pendant. Refer to our images for hole placement. Use the 1.5mm hole punch for the holes.
Slide a fire-polished bead onto an eye pin and make a wrapped loop at the top of the beads. Attach the TierraCast succulent earring post to the wrapped loop using a 4.60mm jump ring. Open the simple loop and attach it to the top loop of the moth pendant. Close the loop.
Add 10 TOHO dark baby blue/bright green seed beads to an eye pin, followed by a TOHO Demi Round bead. Make a simple loop at the top of the beads. Attach to the outer hole on one side of the moth pendant using a 4.60mm jump ring. Repeat this step and add the dangle to the outer hole on the other side of the pendant.
Add 5 green TOHO seed beads, 1 TOHO yellow seed bead, 5 green seed beads, and 1 Demi Round to an eye pin. Make a simple loop at the top of the beads. Attach this dangle to the next hole on the moth pendant using a 4.60mm jump ring. Repeat this step on the other side of the pendant.
Add 1 green seed bead, 1 yellow seed bead, 1 Demi Round, 9 green seed beads, and 1 Demi Round to an eye pin. Make a simple loop at the top of the beads. Attach this dangle to the next hole on the moth pendant using a 4.60mm jump ring. Repeat this step on the other side of the pendant.
Add 1 Demi Round and 3 yellow seed beads to an eye pin. Repeat this pattern twice. Make a simple loop at the top of the beads. Attach this dangle to the center hole on the moth pendant using a 4.60mm jump ring.
Attach a dagger bead to the bottom of each dangle using a 5.85mm jump ring for each.
Repeat these steps to make the other earring.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
