This bracelet features gorgeous fire-polished beads in a variety of sizes and is featured in our Bead of the Month Calendar.
Add an 8mm ruby fire-polished bead to a 3-foot length of thread. Bring your thread back through the other end of the stringing hole to form a loop around one side of the bead, leaving a 4-6 inch tail. Pull tight so the thread is up against one side of the bead. Repeat so there are two strands of thread on one side of the bead.
Add two 8/0 copper-lined light amethyst seed beads to the thread. Bring them down next to the bead. Bring your needle under the two threads around your bead and pull tight so that the seed beads are now against the moon bead. Bring your needle up through the second seed bead added and pull. Your seed beads should now start to snug up against the 8mm round, forming a frame. Pick up one seed bead and bring your needle back through the two thread strands around the bead. Bring the needle back up through the bead. This is much like the brick stitch technique for adding beads. Continue until you have 6 seed beads framing half of the fire-polished bead.

Add another increasing row of brick stitch on top of the copper-lined amethyst beads. Use the 8/0 marbled opaque beige/pink beads for this row. You want 8 beads in this row. You will have to add an extra bead to one of the thread bridges in the middle of the row and also end the row on an increase to get 8 beads.
Add another increasing row of brick stitch on top of the previous row. Use the 8/0 semi-glazed orange AB seed beads for this row. You want 10 beads in this row.
Add another increasing row of brick stitch on top of the previous row. Use the beige/pink beads. You want 12 beads in this row.
Your thread should now be coming out of the last bead in the row. Position the thread so that it's coming out of the second to last bead in the row.
Add a 4mm fire-polished bead and a semi-glazed orange AB seed bead to the thread. Skip over the orange seed bead and bring the thread back down through the fire-polished bead and the seed bead in the row underneath it. Then, bring your thread up through the next seed bead over toward the center of the row.
Add a 6mm fire-polished bead and a copper-lined seed bead to the thread. Skip over the copper-lined seed bead and go back down through the fire-polished bead. Go down through the next seed bead over in the brick stitch row. Come up through the next seed bead over from that.
Repeat steps 7 and 8 twice and then repeat step 7 once more. Finish off and secure your threads.
Repeat steps 1-9 six times, using the 8mm opaque rose and topaz luster beads for three of the repeats.
Now you will stitch your brick stitch beads together. Pick up an 8mm ruby brick stitch bead and add a new thread so that it is coming out of the last seed bead in the top row on one end. Lay your ruby brick stitch bead on your work space with the brick stitch frame facing up. Lay a topaz luster brick stitch bead next to it with the brick stitch frame facing down.
You want to connect the end beads on each brick stitch frame together. Bring your thread through the second row of brick stitch on your topaz luster bead (a beige/pink bead). Then go through the semi-glazed orange bead above that row and the beige/pink bead above that row. Bring your thread back through the last beige/pink, semi-glazed orange, and beige pink beads on your ruby bead brick stitch frame. Loop through these beads several times to secure.
Weave your thread so that it is coming out of the top row of the brick stitch frame on the other end of the topaz luster bead and continue connecting your brick stitch frames together in this manner, making sure to alternate the 8mm bead colors and to position the brick stitch frames so that they alternate from up to down.
Weave your thread so that it is coming out of the top row of brick stitch on the last bead in your bracelet. Add 7 semi-glazed orange seed beads and go back down through the bead. Reinforce the loop and then secure and trim your thread. Repeat this step on the other end of the bracelet.
Attach each half of the clasp to the seed bead loop on each end of the bracelet using a jump ring for each.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
