Up in the Air Necklace Tutorial

Add stripes of Vintaj Rust Patina, Vintaj Lapis Patina, Vintaj Garnet Patina, and Vintaj Ochre Patina to the recesses of the antique silver-plated air balloon charm. Use a fine paint brush and don't worry too much if your color gets on the raised lines of the design. You can buff the excess color off later. Allow to dry.

Applying Vintaj Patinas

Use the Vintaj metal reliefing block to buff off any excess color on the raised part of the charm.

Slide a Czech glass 2mm opaque red round bead onto a 1 1/2-inch 24 gauge sterling silver head pin and make a wrapped loop at the top of the bead. Repeat four times for a total of five dangles. Repeat this step so that you have five Czech glass 2mm cobalt round bead dangles, five Czech glass 2mm sueded gold hyacinth fire-polished bead dangles, and five Czech glass 2mm custard matte luster iris fire-polished bead dangles.

Wrapped Loop Tutorial

Attach a 9 1/4-inch length of 4mm antique silver-plated brass round disc chain to one side of the loop of the hot air balloon charm using a 5.5mm silver-plated 21 gauge open jump ring. Repeat for the other side of the loop.

Opening and Closing Jump Rings Video

Open a jump ring and add a dangle of every color, with two links of leftover disc chain in the center of the four bead dangles. Use the oval ring at the center of the two discs on the chain to dangle the discs. Attach the jump ring to the third oval ring over on the chain to one side of the necklace. Repeat on the other side of the necklace.

Create a jumble of dangles as you did in the previous step and attach the dangles four oval rings over on the chain from the last group of dangles. Repeat on the other side of the necklace.

Attach each half of the TierraCast antique silver-plated large spiral toggle clasp to each end of the necklace using a jump ring for each. Attach your last group of dangles to the bar component using another jump ring.
