The colors that I chose for this bracelet make each motif look like a little snowflake. A simple change in the palette could transform them into spring flowers.
Czech glass Es-O mini beads make beautiful shapes in this stunning bracelet. These unique two-hole beads are perfect for bead weaving, as they nest up beautifully together. This bracelet is a lovely winter design and would even make a nice accent for Valentine's Day. Switch up the colors in this bracelet to express all new style that reflects your personality.
Start with a comfortable length of thread, approximately one to two yards. Add six Czech glass Es-O mini 2-hole 4mm beads in pastel dark coral to the thread. Bring your thread back around through the beads to form a loop (As seen in Fig. 1A of the Snow Drop Diagram PDF). Once you have gone through all of the beads, pass your thread through to the second stringing hole in the next bead.
Add a Czech glass Es-O mini 2-hole 4mm bead in cocoa airy pearl. Bring your thread through the next coral bead, so that the cocoa bead nests between the two coral beads. Repeat so that there is a cocoa bead between each coral bead (Fig. 1B). Pass your thread through to the next stringing hole in the first cocoa bead added.
Add two Czech glass Es-O mini 2-hole 4mm beads in cream airy pearl to the thread. Bring your thread through the next cocoa bead, so that the cream beads nest between the two cocoa beads. Repeat so that there are two cream beads between each cocoa bead (Fig. 1C). Pass your thread through to the next stringing hole in the first cream bead added.
Add one TOHO 11/0 bead round in galvanized aluminum to the thread, then go through the next cream bead. Add two TOHO seed beads to the thread and go through the next cream bead over. Repeat until you come all the way around and back through the first cream bead. Pass your thread through the first TOHO seed bead added (Fig. 1D).
Add three TOHO seed beads to the thread and go through the next seed bead in the previous row. Repeat until you come all the way around and back through the first seed bead (Fig. 1E). Secure and trim your thread. Repeat steps one through five to create another medallion with a coral center. Set aside for now.
Use a comfortable length of thread and add six cream beads to the thread. Bring your thread back around through the beads to form a loop (Fig. 2A). Once you have gone through all of the beads, pass your thread through to the second stringing hole in the next bead.
Add two cocoa beads to the thread. Bring your thread through the next cream bead. Repeat until you have two cocoa beads between each cream bead (Fig. 2B). Pass your thread through to the next stringing hole in the first cocoa bead added.
Add a cream bead to the thread. Bring your thread through the next cocoa bead. Add a TOHO seed bead to the thread and go through the next cocoa bead. Repeat until you come all the way around and back through the second stringing hole of the first cream bead added (Fig. 2C).
Add a TOHO seed bead to the thread and go through the next seed bead in the previous row. Add another TOHO seed bead to the thread and go through the next cream bead in the previous row. Repeat until you come all the way around and through the last cream bead in the previous row (Fig. 2D).
Go back through the first seed bead in the previous row. Add two TOHO seed beads, then go through the seed bead, cream bead, and seed bead in the previous row. Repeat until you come all the way around and back through the cream bead you started at (Fig. 2E). Secure, but do not trim your thread on these next medallions. Repeat steps six through ten to make another medallion. Repeat again with a reverse color pattern (using cream beads in place of cocoa and vice versa) to make the center medallion for your bracelet.
Now we're going to assemble the bracelet. Start with a cream center medallion. Using a comfortable length of thread, weave the thread so that it is exiting out of one of the cream beads on the edge of the medallion. Add a cocoa bead to the thread, then go through the next stringing hole of the cocoa bead. Add a cream bead and another cocoa bead. Go through the next stringing hole of the cocoa bead, then come back through the cream bead on the edge of the medallion (Fig. 3A).
Bring your thread back through that first cocoa bead added and then through the next stringing hole again. Go back through the first stringing hole of the cream bead added and through the next stringing hole of the same bead (Fig. 3B).
You're going to attach this medallion to a medallion with a coral center (Fig. 3C). Bring your thread through two seed beads between cream beads on the coral center medallion. Bring the thread through the second stringing hole of the connecting cream bead, then back through the two seed beads to reinforce. Then, bring your thread through the next seed bead over, above one of the cream beads. Bring your thread back through the first stringing hole of the connecting cream bead.
Bring your thread through the seed bead above the cream bead on your coral center medallion, as shown in Fig. 3D. Then, go back through the two seed beads between the cream beads and back down through the seed bead over the other cream bead. Add three seed beads and go through the first stringing hole of the connecting cocoa bead. Bring your thread through the cream bead in your first medallion and the first stringing hole of the other connecting cocoa bead. Add three seed beads to your thread. Weave through a few beads, then secure and trim your thread. Repeat this step to connect the medallions for the other side of your bracelet.
You should now have two end pieces and a center medallion for your bracelet, as shown in Fig. 4. Now it's time to connect the end pieces to the center.
Repeat steps eleven through fourteen to connect the center medallion to one of the end pieces, referring to Fig. 5 for bead colors and the thread path. Weave your thread into the beads. You can either secure and trim your thread or weave it so that it is exiting out of the other side of the center medallion. Repeat to attach the other end of the bracelet to the center. See Fig. 6 as a reference for how all the pieces should look connected together.
Now you can add the clasp to your bracelet. If you want more length for your bracelet, you can either add a longer row of beads to the clasp, or make more medallions. Our bracelet fits a size 6, so adjust accordingly. Using a comfortable length of thread, weave your thread so that it exiting out of the cream bead at one end of your bracelet. Add a cocoa bead to the thread and go through the second stringing hole on the same bead. Add a cream bead, followed by another cocoa bead. Go through the next stringing hole on this cocoa bead and back through the cream bead on the end of your bracelet (Fig. 7A).
Go back through both stringing holes of the first cocoa bead you added, and back through the first stringing hole of the cream bead you added. Go through the second stringing hole of the last cocoa bead you added. Add a seed bead and a cocoa bead to the thread. Go through the second stringing hole of the cream bead. Add a cocoa bead and a seed bead (Fig. 7B).
Go back through the second hole of the first cocoa bead added and through the first hole of the cream bead. Go through the second hole of the cream bead and back through the first hole of the next cocoa bead, as shown in Fig. 7C. Go through the second stringing hole of this same bead and add a seed bead. Go through the second hole of the next cocoa bead.
Loop your thread around one half of the TierraCast 5/8-inch antique silver-plated pewter Anna's toggle and clasp set. Then, go through the second holes of both top cocoa beads, as shown in Fig. 7D. Loop your thread around the clasp, then go through the seed bead. Loop around the clasp and go through the seed bead again. Secure and trim your thread. Repeat steps twenty through twenty-three for the other end of the bracelet.
