Resplendent Roots Necklace Tutorial

Use the Artbeads Jungle Queen Designer Blend and Miyuki 8/0 round seed beads in Duracoat galvanized yellow gold to create a Cellini spiral stitch rope. This stitch is actually tubular peyote that utilizes different sizes of beads to create the spiral effect. Watch our Cellini spiral stitch tutorial video to learn how to create the stitch. Sort your seed beads by color and size and follow the pattern Cynthia uses in the video. Keep stitching until your rope is approximately 4 5/8 inches long.

Cut three lengths of Leather Cord USA 3mm natural red brown round leather, metallic Tamba round leather, and metallic copper round leather approximately 19 inches long each.

Slide your Cellini spiral stitch rope onto the center of all three leather cords. Add five 15mm satin gold-plated pewter textured round links to one end of the leather strands and five round links to the other end of the leather strands.

Add adhesive to the inside of a TierraCast 6mm antique copper-plated brass Taj cord end cap and insert the ends of the leather cord. Allow to dry. Repeat on the other end of the necklace.

Curve the Kabela Design antique brass Lacy Dream filigree around the center of your necklace, so that it wraps around the Cellini spiral stitch rope. Curl one end of the filigree all the way around rope. Keep the other end of the filigree flat, so that it creates a pointed bail to attach your pendant to.

Cut a length of 4mm antique brass rolo chain approximately 13 links long. Attach one end to one of the openings at the pointed end of your filigree using a TierraCast medium oval brass oxide pewter open jump ring. Attach the other end of the chain to the other opening using another oval jump ring.

Slide the 41x30mm Tree of Live of black agate rectangle bead onto a 2-inch antique brass-plated 20 gauge head pin. Attach it to the center link of the rolo chain by creating a simple loop.

Attach half of the TierraCast antique copper-plated pewter artisan toggle clasp set to each end of the necklace using a 6mm antique copper 20 gauge open jump ring for each end.
