Queen Bee

The beads in this design naturally spiral, so you can achieve the twirling stripes by stringing a simple pattern. If you need to adjust the size of the bracelet, you can add the same number of rows to both ends of the bracelet to lengthen it while keeping the design at the center. There are approximately 15 rows per inch. Make sure to string all of your beads before you begin crocheting. You will be stringing them onto the S-Lon Micro Bead Cord with a big eye needle. It's a tight fit, so if you are having trouble getting the beads to pass over the needle and thread, you can stop using the needle and stiffen the cord end with glue instead. Use the diagram to check off rows as you go.

String the following pattern onto the thread (this is a row):

• One TOHO 11/0 bead round in opaque shiny jet black
• One TOHO 11/0 bead round in galvanized starlight PermaFinish
• One shiny black bead
• Two TOHO 11/0 bead rounds in matte opaque black
• One TOHO 11/0 bead round in matte nickel-plated plum/bronze iris
• Two matte black beads

Repeat this pattern 34 times.

String the following pattern onto the thread (this is a row):

• One shiny black bead
• One gold bead
• One shiny black bead
• Five gold beads

Repeat this pattern 28 times.

String the following pattern onto the thread (this is a row):

• One shiny black bead
• One gold bead
• One shiny black bead
• Two matte black beads
• One plum/bronze iris bead
• Two matte black beads

Repeat this pattern 34 times.

You should have a total of 99 rows (792 beads).

This bracelet has eight beads per row, so you will want to start off with nine chain stitches to form your ring. Then, add eight beads to the ring to start your first row.

Continue until you have used all of the beads and then do another row of chain stitches without beads to finish the end of the rope. Tie off.

Place the loop of a 2-inch gold-plated brass 21 gauge eye pin just into the center of the crochet rope end and use the TOHO One-G thread to stitch all around and through the eye pin loop until it feels secure. Sew over a bit of the thread end from step four. Tie off. Snip both thread ends.

Slide the Nunn Design antique gold-plated pewter 9mm ornate tassel top onto the eye pin. Attach one half of the 6mm gold-plated magnetic clasp to the eye pin by making a wrapped loop.
