This is a unique way to combine leather and gemstones in an impactful look.

This bracelet combines round leather from Leather Cord USA and beads from an Artbeads Designer Gemstone Blend in an unforgettable style. Since the beads are perfectly matched, you can pick them up at random when adding them to the leather cord strands. A clever use of jump rings keeps everything together in this design.

Step-by-Step Instructions Expand All Steps

Cut a length of 2mm metallic Gauriya round leather approximately 12 inches long. Cut another length of 2mm leather approximately 24 inches long.

Slide the 24-inch length of leather through the holes of a TierraCast brass oxide pewter oval distressed button until the button is at the center of the leather. Fold the leather in half. Place the end of the 12-inch piece of leather close to the button and wrap these three strands of leather together using a six-inch piece of Leather Cord USA 1mm natural black round leather. Wrap the black leather around itself to secure the ends. Add glue for extra security and trim the ends of the black leather. Allow to dry.

Attach a TierraCast brass oxide pewter ethnic spike drop charm to an outer strand of leather using a TierraCast black finish large oval open jump ring. Attach a TierraCast brass oxide pewter ethnic dart drop charm to the center strand of leather using a jump ring.

Slide a bead from the Artbeads Guidance Designer Blend onto each of the three leather strands. Position the strands into a loose braid or twist and add a jump ring over all three strands, close to the beads just added. Repeat eight times to create braided sections of beads between each jump ring.

Fold the ends of the leather over to create a loop wide enough to fit the button on the other end of the bracelet. Use 1mm black leather to wrap around and secure the loop, as you did for the strands at the other end of the bracelet. Add a bead to each end of leather and knot the ends. Trim the leather if necessary.
