SilverSilk is an easy product to use because it is strong, flexible and won't crush or kink.

How to Use SilverSilk Step 1

It can be cut with side cutters, and it won't fray. Simply cut off the amount that you desire, and then roll the end of the mesh to make it easier to insert into a crimp end.

How to Use SilverSilk Step 2

When finishing SilverSilk with a crimp end you may want to apply an adhesive like E6000 Glue for a strong hold before inserting the Silversilk into the crimp end.

How to Use SilverSilk Step 3

Use nylon jaw pliers to crimp the crimp end down over the SilverSilk, and then pull the SilverSilk to ensure that the crimp end has a good hold.

How to Use SilverSilk Step 4

Once the crimp ends are in place, you can use jump rings to attach a clasp of your choosing. For a simple look, attach a lobster clasp or spring ring to the crimp ends.

Attach a toggle clasp to create a lariat-style necklace. Feel free to add beads and crystals to embellish the bar if you wish.

SilverSilk ends can also be finished with cones. Cut a length of wire. Make a 90 degree bend in the wire. Weave one end of the wire through the end of the SilverSilk approximately 3 stitches above your cut.

Using the same end, wrap the wire around the the wire tail and then wrap back around the SilverSilk to secure. When wrapping wire onto SilverSilk, be careful not to pull too tight, as this could misshape the SilverSilk.

Slide the cone onto the wire tail and pull down to cover the wrap then finish with a wrapped loop. If you are not using jump rings, be sure to attach your clasp before closing your wrapped loop.

To create dangles, thread a bead onto a headpin, eye pin or wire and push the wire through the SilverSilk where you'd like the dangle.

Finish the dangle with a simple or wrapped loop.

For a different effect, you can also use fine wire or thread to weave or knot beads onto SilverSilk.
