Colors of the rushing sea splash to life in this necklace. Stormy blue and green tones look like wild waves coming into shore. Aquamarine beads from Dakota Stones add not only inspiring color, but also texture and style to this simple design.

Step-by-Step Instructions Expand All Steps

Cut a length of jewelry wire approximately 12 inches long. Slide on a sterling silver 2x2mm crimp tube, followed by a sterling silver 6mm 20.5 gauge open round jump ring. Bring the wire back through the crimp tube and crimp in place. Hide the tube with a sterling silver 3mm crimp cover. Open the jump ring and add half of the TierraCast antique silver-plated pewter floral toggle clasp. Close the jump ring.

Crimp Cover Tutorial

Add a Dakota Stones 4-6mm aquamarine round bead to the strand and then add the following bead pattern:

One 3mm sterling silver seamless matte/satin round bead
Five Dakota Stones 4-8mm aquamarine rough chip beads
One 3mm round bead
Three aquamarine round beads

Repeat the pattern three times and then add a 3mm round bead to the strand.

String on a crimp tube, followed by a jump ring. Bring the wire back through the crimp tube and crimp in place. Hide the tube with a crimp cover. Open the jump ring and add the B&B Benbassat sterling silver starflower embellishment. Close the jump ring.

Cut another length of jewelry wire approximately 12 inches long. Attach it to the other side of the starflower embellishment using a jump ring and crimp tube. Hide the tube with a crimp cover. Make a mirror image of the bead pattern on this side of the necklace. When you've reached the end of the strand, slide on a crimp tube and a jump ring, and bring the wire back through the crimp tube. Crimp in place and hide the tube with a crimp cover. Add the other half of the clasp to the jump ring.
