Dangling drops make this simple necklace stand out. Cynthia added Briolette pendants to the center of some fun cog chain for a look full of character and movement. She made a messy wrap at the top of each drop to complement the textured look of the chain. You can see more inspiration for using drops in your jewelry designs in this Artbeads Cafe episode.
Cut a six-inch piece of 24 gauge Vintage Bronze Artbeads Designer Wire. Slide a Crystal 11x5.5mm Briolette pendant in Chrysolite opal onto the center of the wire. Cross the ends of the wire above the bead and bend one end up so it is sticking straight up from the top of the bead. Wrap the other end of the wire around this straight end three to four times. Cut the excess wire from the tail. Work the straight end into a loop, as you would for a wrapped loop. Instead of trimming the excess wire, wrap it around the top of the pendant to create a messy wrap.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
