Czech glass Ginkgo Leaf Beads are wonderful to work with thanks to their unique shape and two-hole design. Becky came up with this simple stringing project on multiple strands of stretch cord. The multi-strand design allows you to create a striped effect with the beads and the Ginkgo beads nest up beautifully within the pattern.

Step-by-Step Instructions Expand All Steps

Cut six lengths of Elasticity stretch cord each approximately 12 inches long. Give each strand a good stretch, to make sure the cord is nice and stretched before working with it.

Use a Bead Stopper to keep the six strands in place next to each other. You want the strands to be spaced out a little from each other, so use one coil in the Bead Stopper for each strand.

Add a TOHO 8/0 round seed bead in hybrid ColorTrends metallic Sharkskin to strand 1. Add a Matubo 2-hole jet Rembrandt Ginkgo Leaf Bead to strands 2 and 3. Add a Matubo 2-hole matte opaque yellow Rembrandt Ginkgo Leaf Bead to strands 4 and 5. Add a seed bead to strand 6.

For the next row, add a yellow Ginkgo bead to strands 1 and 2. Add a black Ginkgo bead to strands 3 and 4. Add a yellow Ginkgo bead to strands 5 and 6.

For the third row, add a seed bead to strand 1. Add a yellow Ginkgo bead to strands 2 and 3. Add a black Ginkgo bead to strands 4 and 5. Add a seed bead to strand 6.

For the fourth row, add a black Ginkgo bead to strands 1 and 2. Add a yellow Ginkgo bead to strands 3 and 4. Add a black Ginkgo bead to strands 5 and 6.

Repeat steps 3-6 until your bracelet is the desired length. You can check the length to your wrist by adding another Bead Stopper to the other end of the bracelet and testing the bracelet on your wrist.
