Rulla beads allow you to create groovy patterns in your beaded designs. This bracelet features a chevron pattern in amazing colors that look like shimmering snakeskin. Learn how to make this bracelet and start using Rulla beads and lots of other unique beads in your designs

Step-by-Step Instructions Expand All Steps

Refer to the first page of this Rulla Bead Peyote Diagram PDF to start your bracelet. The first bead strung will be a Rulla 3x5mm Czech glass two-hole bead in magic violet green, followed by two TOHO 11/0 bead rounds in transparent lemon lime, a Rulla 3x5mm Czech glass two-hole bead in jet green luster, two more transparent lemon lime TOHOs, a magic violet green Rulla, two transparent lemon lime TOHOs, a magic violet green Rulla, two TOHOs, a jet green luster Rulla, two TOHOs and a magic violet green Rulla. Add two TOHOs to the thread and go through the top stringing hole of the last Rulla bead added. Continue to follow the pattern laid out in the diagram.

To get the chevron pattern right, refer to the second page of the PDF. Make sure the iridescent finish of the magic violet green Rulla beads are all facing the same side on your bracelet. Continue this pattern until your bracelet is as long as you like. Remember to account for the length the button and loop will add, as well. When you reach the last row of your bracelet, alternate between Rulla beads and two TOHOs, as you did in the first row of the bracelet.

For the loop end of the bracelet, weave your thread through the beads, so that it is exiting out of the top hole of the first Rulla bead at the end of your first row. Go through the bottom hole of the bead and then exit between the Rulla bead and two TOHOs. Add three TOHOs to the thread and loop around the Rulla bead and back through the bottom stringing hole, as shown on the second page of the PDF. Go through the next two TOHOs and Rulla bead in the row, add three TOHOs to the thread, loop back through the stringing hole of the Rulla and continue on to the end of the row in this manner.

Your thread should now be exiting out of the end of the first row of beads. Add 25 TOHOs to your thread and pass through the Rulla bead on the other end of this row to make a loop. Pass through row one and the loop two more times to strengthen the loop. You can see the thread path for making the loop in the PDF. Weave your thread back into the bracelet, make sure it is knotted or secure and trim.

Bead Weaving Basics: Starting, Adding, and Ending Thread

Start a new thread on the other end of the bracelet, weaving it so that it is exiting out of the center TOHOs in the first row. Add the Czech glass green and gold floral design round button to the thread and loop the thread through the button shank and beads below it several times to secure the button to the bracelet. Weave your thread back into the bracelet, make sure it is knotted or secure and trim.
