When making more complex projects, a spacer bar might come in handy. Custom spacer bars are perfect for multi-strand projects. This tutorial will show you how to make as many loops as needed for your own spacer bars, with the spacing that your project requires.

Step-by-Step Instructions Expand All Steps

This WigJig is set up to make a five hole spacer bar.

Cut a piece of wire and use round nose pliers to make a simple loop on one end. See our simple loop tutorial if you need more help.

Place the loop over the first peg in the jig.

Wrap your wire around the second peg to form another loop.

Wrap the wire around each of the rest of the pegs.

Remove your wire from the jig.

Trim the excess wire to finish the loop at the end.

Use a nylon mallet to flatten and work harden the wire.

Straighten out your wire as needed.

You can now use your spacer bar in multi-strand ideas, like we did here. You can make as many loops as you need for your project.
