Make ten loopy links out of the 20 gauge Autumn Designer Wire Blend using multi-size looping pliers. For help making these links, please see our instructional Loopy Links MiniVid. Set these links aside for now. Do not link the loopy links together with jump rings yet. We will do that at the end of the project.

Multi-Sized Looping Pliers Tutorial

Make beaded bezels for the 14mm Rivoli in Crystal Copper, the two 18mm Rivolis in Crystal Vitrail Medium and the two 18mm Rivolis in Amethyst. For the 18mm Rivolis, use 46 Miyuky 11/0 trans silver-lined brown Delicas for the starting rows on each stone. For the 14mm Rivoli, use 36 Delicas. The perfect fit will also depend on your tension when stitching, which is explained in the Handy Tip above. Use the TOHO 15/0 bead rounds in 24K gold lined crystal for the rows on the front of the bezel; these rows will also cinch up each bezel.

Peyote Stitch Bezel Tutorial

Bring your needle through the middle row of beads on the beaded bezel of the Crystal Copper Rivoli and attach one of the loopy links using ten TOHOs. Bring your needle back down through the next bead in the middle row.

Go through the next bead in the middle row and add a TOHO, a 4mm XILION bicone in Crystal Vitrail Medium and one more TOHO to the thread. Bring your needle back down through the bicone, the first TOHO and the next bead in the middle row of the bezel.

Repeat step 4 five more times and then attach a loopy link to the other side of the bezel in the same manner as you did in step three. Finish the other side of the decorative edge until you come back around to the first loopy link. The number of beads in the decorative edge can vary if you used more or fewer beads for the bezel. We made nine decorative edges for the rest of our bezel. Keep in mind that the loopy links on the center bezel will be slightly higher on the sides of the bezel. This allows it to hang properly in the necklace.

Repeat steps three through five for the 18mm Rivolis. For the decorative edges on these stones, add one TOHO, a bicone and three more TOHOs.

Lay out your Rivolis so that they are side by side on your work surface, with the loop links on the sides next to each other. You should lay out your Rivolis in this pattern, from left to right:

• One Amethyst Rivoli
• One Crystal Vitrail Medium Rivoli
• The Crystal Copper Rivoli
• A Crystal Vitrail Medium Rivoli
• An Amethyst Rivoli

Make 18 4mm jump rings out of your left over Designer Wire using the multi-sized looping pliers. Attach each loopy link laying side by side using three jump rings each.

Fold a length of hand-dyed silk jewel tones ribbon with dark purple edges in half and cut in the middle of the fold. Place the cut end of one half into a JBB gold-plated pewter large crimp end cap with loop and crimp shut. Attach the ribbon to one of the loopy links on the end of your Rivoli chain using three jump rings. Slide a JBB gold-plated pewter squiggle cylinder bead with large hole onto the ribbon and tie a knot in the end of the ribbon. Repeat for the other side of the necklace.
