Start with three feet of Beadalon 1.5mm black Korean wax cord. Fold the cord in half and make a knot a little below the fold to create a loop. Make sure the loop is just large enough to fit the button you have chosen for your project.
Cut a length of jewelry wire about three feet long. Fold it in half and bring the fold through the loop you created in your wax cord. Bring the ends of the jewelry wire through the fold from the other side of the knot in the wax cord and pull tight so that the jewelry wire is attached to the cord around the knot in the wax cord. The ends of the jewelry wire should be coming out of the loop between the two strands of wax cord.
Slide the ends of your jewelry wire through a 6mm XILION bicone in Ruby from opposite ends and pull so that the bicone rests between the wax cord strands.
Loop each end of the jewelry wire around the outside edge of each wax cord strand and back toward the inside of the strands of wax cord. Slide the ends of your jewelry wire through a 6mm XILION bicone in Silk from opposite ends and pull so that the bicone rests between the wax cord strands. Continue this technique, alternating bead colors, until your bracelet is the desired length. Keep in mind that the button and loop closure will add about 1 3/4 inches of length.
Knot the ends of your wax cord and jewelry wire strands together. If you need extra length on your bracelet you can add a bead to the strands and knot again. Add a button to one strand of the wax cord. Knot the ends of your wire and cord together on the other side of the button. Add a dab of adhesive to the knot for extra security and then trim the ends of the wire and cord to your liking. ,
Heliotrope Bracelet
Start with six 2-foot lengths of Beadalon 1mm black Korean wax cord. Knot the ends together. Add some adhesive for extra security. Fold a 2-foot length of jewelry wire in half and add the fold into the strands of wax cord. Knot all of the strands of cord and wire together, just below the first knot. Slide a 14mm BeCharmed briolette bead over the second knot.
Braid three strands of the wax cord together and repeat with the other three strands of wax cord. Make sure the jewelry wire strands fall between your two braided cord strands. Slide the ends of your jewelry wire through a 4mm XILION bicone in Heliotrope from opposite ends and pull so that the bicone rests between your braided cord strands.
Loop each end of the jewelry wire around the outside edge of each braided cord and back toward the inside of the strands of braided cord. Slide the ends of your jewelry wire through a Heliotrope bicone from opposite ends and pull so that the bicone rests between the braided cord strands. Repeat until your bracelet is the desired length. Keep in mind the closure will add about 1 1/2 inches of length.
Make a knot at the end of your bracelet with all of the strands of wire and cord. Add adhesive for extra security. Slide on a BeCharmed bead and then make a knot with the strands of wire and cord at the top of the bead. Trim the ends of the jewelry wire so that they are hidden in the knot and add adhesive to secure. Knot again with the wax cord strands. Leave a gap for a loop that will fit over the BeCharmed bead on the other end of your bracelet. Knot the cords after the gap and secure with adhesive. Trim the ends of the cord to your liking.
