Satin cord creates a colorful look in this flat kumihimo bracelet. The delicious purple and green colors swirl together nicely in the braided design. Learn the technique and then try using your own favorite colors. See more kumihimo ideas in this Artbeads Cafe episode.
Start your flat kumihimo braid. We used six 20-inch strands of 2mm lavender satin, two 20-inch cords of 2mm plum satin and two 20-inch cords of 2mm green apple satin. Continue braiding until your bracelet is the desired length. Gather the ends and tie them in a knot. Trim and secure the cords.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
