I made this bracelet while experimenting with Honeycomb Beads and finished with a sparkly Briolette for the clasp.
Czech glass honeycomb beads are the perfect shape for creating interesting patterns in your designs. The sides nest up to each other perfectly and each bead features two stringing holes, so the bead weaving possibilities are endless. Cheri created this bracelet to show just how easy it is to create mesmerizing designs with these beads
String 35 Czech glass 6mm 2-hole jet California gold honeycomb beads onto your thread through one stringing hole. Place the strand horizontally on your work surface and flip the first bead up, then the second bead down. Continue this pattern for all of the beads.
Run the needle through the second stringing hole of the last bead on the thread and then add another honeycomb bead to the thread. Bring the needle through the second stringing hole of the next existing honeycomb bead. Continue adding a bead between the existing honeycomb beads until you reach the other end of the bracelet. You can circle the thread through some existing beads, knotting here and there to secure it. Be sure to tighten all of the honeycomb beads so that they are snug together. Make sure your thread is exiting out of the second stringing hole on the center end bead when you are done.
Add six TOHO 15/0 bead rounds in dark copper to the thread. Bring your needle through the first edge bead on one side of the bracelet, making sure to go through the second stringing hole of the honeycomb bead. Then, add one 15/0 bead, a 2mm fire-polished bead in rose gold topaz luster and another 15/0 bead to the thread. Go through the second stringing hole of the next honeycomb bead. Repeat this process to fill in all of the gaps until you reach the other end of the bracelet. Add six 15/0 beads to your thread and go into one bead hole on the center honeycomb bead on the end and then out of the other bead hole. Repeat this step for the other side of the bracelet.
With your thread exiting out of the center bead on one end of the bracelet, add five 15/0 beads and go into one stringing hole and out of the other stringing hole, like you did in the previous step. Pass your needle through two of these seed beads to position your needle at the center of the bracelet end. Add enough seed beads to the thread to fill the stringing hole of the 12mm briolette bead in Light Colorado Topaz and then slide the briolette bead over them. Add a fire-polished bead to the thread and then go back through the seed beads inside the stringing hole of the crystal. Circle the thread through existing beads in the body of the bracelet and then through the beads inside the crystal again to reinforce the button closure you just created.
Weave your thread through one side of the bracelet to get to the other end. Make sure your thread is coming out of the center honeycomb bead on the end. Add five seed beads to the thread and into one stringing hole and out of the other stringing hole. Pass your needle through two of the seed beads to position your needle at the center of the bracelet end. Add a fire-polished bead, followed by 35 seed beads. Bring your thread back down through the fire-polished beads and the body of the bracelet. Make sure your loop fits the button and then reinforce the loop by passing through it a few more times. Secure and trim your thread.
