Millefiori
Pronounced Mill-ee-fee-or-ee. This unique and beautiful glass is made by heating up a bundle of very thin rods of colored glass until they fuse together. They are then either sliced to make beads and pendants or formed into other ornate glass works such as paperweights, marbles, and plates. Millefiori in Italian means "one thousand flowers" and dates back to the Romans in the 1st century B.C.
