Christmas fantasies come to life in these colorful ornaments. We decorated these simple ornaments with Miyuki Delicas and O beads to celebrate the holiday season in unique style. This is the perfect project for creating your own ornaments Choose the best colors to match the rest of your Christmas decor and watch these ornaments twinkle and turn among the lights of the tree.
We purchased paper ornaments from our local craft store and then covered them all with metallic gold spray paint. You can use whatever color goes best with the beads you have picked out to decorate your ornaments. Allow the spray paint to dry.
,We will decorate one section of the ornament at a time. Paint Gem-Tac adhesive onto the section using a paint brush, about an inch or so at a time. Cover the surface of the section with a mixture of 3.8x1mm Czech glass magic blue O beads and 3.8x1mm Czech glass sapphire vitrail O beads. Using the Crystal Katana to put the O beads in place will make the process faster. We used mostly magic blue O beads with the sapphire vitrail beads interspersed. Allow this section to dry, making sure to keep the ornament propped up until dry. Repeat this for alternating sections on the ornament.
Using the same techniques you used for the last ornament, cover one section with 3.8x1mm Czech glass magic orchid O beads. Allow to dry and repeat on alternating sections. Then on the remaining sections, add the Miyuki 11/0 Duracoat galvanized hot pink Delicas.
,Working on a section at a time, cover the front surface of the star ornament with a mixture of 3.8x1mm Czech glass emerald AB O beads and 3.8x1mm Czech glass peridot AB O beads. We used mostly emerald O beads, with peridot beads sprinkled in randomly. Layer more O beads at the center of the star, to cover the point. Allow to dry.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
