Czech glass Emma beads feature three-stringing holes and a unique triangular shape that will bring unforgettable dimension to your jewelry designs. Artbeads Designer Cheri used them as the base of her beaded earrings. They bring depth and drama to this enchanting look. Crystal beads add sparkling accents that will draw the eye.

Step-by-Step Instructions Expand All Steps

Start with a comfortable length of thread, approximately one to two yards. Add eight Czech glass 3x6mm Emma 3-hole beads in concrete grey to the thread. Bring the needle back around through all eight beads again to form a circle. Tie a knot to secure.

Move the needle to the top stringing hole and pass the needle through the Emma bead. Add a TOHO 11/0 bead round in copper lined crystal. Thread through the next Emma bead. Repeat all the way around to add a bead between each Emma bead.

With the needle exiting out of the last seed bead added, move your thread to the outside stringing hole and pass through the adjacent Emma bead. Add two seed beads and then thread through the next Emma bead. Repeat to add two seed beads between all of the Emma beads.

With the thread exiting out of the last pair of seed beads added, add three seed beads to the needle and then go through the two seed beads in the next section, forming a beaded scallop around the tip of the Emma bead. Repeat to add scallops all the way around the circle.

With the thread exiting out of the last group of three seed beads added, add a 4mm faceted round in Crystal Light Chrome to the thread. Go through the next group of three seed beads. Repeat to add crystals all the way around the circle.

With the thread exiting out of the center bead of the last group of three seed beads added, add five seed beads to the thread, then go through the center bead only of the next group of three seed beads. This adds a scallop of beads around the crystal. Repeat to add scallops all the way around the circle.

With the thread exiting out of the center bead of the last group of three seed beads, add two seed beads, a crystal, and two more seed beads. Circle the thread through the center seed bead and the first bead added to the needle. Then, add five more seed beads to the needle, go through the crystal, and circle through all the seed beads surrounding the crystal.

Position your thread so that it is coming out of the seed bead at the top of your crystal and stitch the TierraCast niobium regular loop earwire to the earring. Knot and trim the thread. Repeat steps one through eight to make the other earring.
