Once you know the basics of soutache, you can use it to embellish around a variety of shapes and then connect them together, just like I did for this bracelet.
Get lost in the sparkle of this fabulous soutache design. Earthy ribbon and soutache choices combine with metallic and coppery accents to form an amazing color palette centered around the fractals of magnificent light that shine from each facet of the fancy pear stone and rivolis at the center of this bracelet. Once you finish creating this treasure of a design and tie it around your wrist, you'll feel like you've just stepped into an enchanted forest.
Stitch one row each of The BeadSmith soutache ornamental rayon braid in celery green, The BeadSmith soutache ornamental rayon braid in antique gold and The BeadSmith soutache ornamental rayon braid in ivy around a 30x20mm fancy pear in Crystal Luminous Green.
Now we will be adding beads around the soutache design. Add one 6mm Czech glass round bead in rose and topaz luster to either side of the tapered end of the fancy pear and stitch your rows of soutache around them.
Frame the fancy pear on each side with rows of 4mm faceted rounds in Crystal Copper and soutache. Your first row of soutache will be the ivy color, followed by antique gold for the second row and celery green for the outer row.
Glue a 14mm rivoli in Crystal Luminous Green to a backing and surround it with soutache, just as you did in Step one. Your first row of soutache will be the ivy color and the second row will be the celery green color. Add a TOHO 11/0 bead round in nickel-plated bronze plum iris where the soutache braids meet once you come all the way around the rivoli.
Add a row of 4mm fire-polished beads in opaque red-bronze and hematite around the rivoli, as seen here. It is easier if you secure the first bead in the row for the side you are working on in one place through just the celery green row of soutache. Once the beads are secured to the celery green row, add the ivy row of soutache.
Join the outer rows of soutache together with a 3mm XILION bicone in Crystal Rose Gold 2x in the middle.
Add two 4mm round pearls in Copper to the soutache design and then stitch the ends of the soutache rows to the back to finish the rivoli section. Repeat steps five through eight to create a second section.
Sew one of the rivoli sections to one side of the focal piece, weaving up and down between the layers of the soutache.
Sew the other rivoli section onto the other side.
Add a 5mm round pearl in Copper to the bottom of the focal piece in between the Czech glass rounds and a 4mm Copper pearl to the top of the focal piece.
Cut two pieces of the 3 foot hand dyed silk sunflower blend ribbon approximately 10 inches each. Make sure to use the finished ends of the ribbon for the ties. Stitch the cut ends of the ribbon to the back of one of the rivoli sections of soutache.
Cut two small pieces of soutache and use them to make a loop around the ribbon. Sew them onto the back as you did with the ribbon. Repeat steps twelve through thirteen for the other side of the bracelet.
Cut a piece of beading foundation or suede to fit the back of the design. You may need to add some stuffing or an additional layer of foundation to smooth out the highs and lows created by all the ends and stitching on the back. Use small, even stitches to attach the backing to the design. If necessary, stitch from front to back along the seams where the rivoli sections meet the focal piece. This will act as a hinge and add support to the overall design.
Use the ribbons to tie your finished bracelet around the wrist.

Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown
