For this design I used Prong Beads as petals and Cabochon Beads for the center of the flowers.
With the right beads, you can create shapes straight out of your imagination. Cheri used CzechMates Cabochon Beads and Czech glass Prong Beads to create a sea urchin style in her necklace. By attaching Cabochon Beads in different colors to each other, she even made this unique look reversible, giving you even more style options. Learn how to make this necklace and then start dreaming up your own beaded creations using these beads.
Start with a comfortable length of thread, approximately one to two yards. Bring your needle through one stringing hole of a CzechMates 2-hole 7mm Pacifica Strawberry Cabochon Bead, then loop it around through the second stringing hole and back through the first stringing hole.
Go through the stringing hole of a CzechMates 2-Hole 7mm Pacifica Ginger Cabochon Bead, then go through the corresponding hole of your first Strawberry Cabochon Bead. Go through the second stringing hole of the first Cabochon Bead, then go through the second hole of the second Cabochon Bead and back down through the second stringing hole of the first Cabochon Bead. This will stitch the two Cabochon Beads together so that they are back to back.
Add one Czech glass 6mm luster opaque champagne Prong Bead to the thread, so that the curve of the Prong nests up to the Strawberry Cabochon Bead. Bring your thread through the second stringing hole of the Strawberry Cabochon Bead.
Add a second Prong Bead on the other side of the Cabochon Bead. Go through the first stringing hole of your top Cabochon Bead, then back through the first added Prong Bead.
Add six prong beads to the thread so that they nest up around half of the Cabochon Bead. Bring your thread through the second Prong Bead added.
Add six Prong Beads to the thread so that they nest up around the second half of the Cabochon Bead. Bring your thread through the Prong Beads on the first half and back around through these six Prong Beads. Then, go back through the first Prong Bead added.
Move your needle to the Ginger Cabochon Bead and repeat steps 3 through 6 to add Prong Beads to this Cabochon Bead. Secure and knot your thread, making sure to hide the knot between beads.
Stitch the Prongs together around each Cabochon Bead for added security. With your thread coming out of a bottom Prong Bead, loop through the stringing hole of the corresponding top Prong Bead, then back around through the bottom Prong Bead. Go through the stringing hole of the next bottom Prong Bead and continue stitching the Prong Beads together in this manner. Repeat steps 1 through 8 twice, for a total of three focals.
With your thread coming out of the stringing hole of a Prong Bead, string two TOHO Reflection 8/0 Beads in cream onto your thread. Loop around the Prong Bead and back through the stringing hole. Then, go back through the first TOHO.
Add another TOHO to the thread. Go through a Prong Bead on your second focal. Add a TOHO and go back through the previous TOHO added and the Prong Bead on the second focal.
Flip your attached focals over to add four seed beads on the other side, as you did in steps 9 and 10. Then, follow this diagram to secure the two rows of seed beads together. With your thread coming out of a bottom Prong Bead, go through the TOHO attached to the corresponding top Prong Bead. Loop around through the TOHO bead below that and back through the top TOHO. Go through the TOHO next to the top TOHO. Loop around through the TOHO bead below that and back through the top TOHO. Go through the adjacent top Prong Bead. Repeat steps 9 through 11 on the other side of one of your attached focals.
With your thread coming out between the two sections of cream TOHOs, add 23 TOHO 8/0 bead rounds in semi-glazed turquoise to the thread. Bring your thread between the four connecting cream TOHOs and then into the turquoise seed beads to loop around your focal. To do this, go through the first two turquoise TOHOs. Loop your thread around the thread between the adjacent Prong Beads. Go through the next three TOHOs and loop your thread around the thread between the adjacent Prong Beads. Repeat this technique as illustrated in the diagram all the way around the focal to secure the turquoise TOHOs in place. When you make the last loop, go through the two adjacent cream TOHOs.
Follow the diagram to add turquoise TOHOs around the center focal. You will use the same technique as the previous step. Repeat step twelve to add seed beads around the last focal.
With your thread coming out of the tenth seed bead over from the top cream TOHO on your end focal, add the desired amount of turquoise seed beads to make your necklace as long as you like. We used 95 seed beads. Loop your thread around a 925/10 silver-filled 5mm 22 gauge closed jump ring a couple times and go back through the seed beads you added. When you reach the focal, go through the next two seed beads down from the tenth seed bead. Add the same amount of seed beads as you did before. Loop around the jump ring a couple times and then go back through the seed beads you just added. Bring your thread back through the seed beads on your focal and then secure and knot your thread in place. Repeat this step on the other side of the necklace.
Attach a 9x5mm silver-plated trigger clasp to one end of your necklace using a 4.5mm silver-plated 21 gauge open jump ring. Attach a closed jump ring to the other end of the necklace using another 4.5mm open jump ring.

Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown
below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from
the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up
