Warm colors of a dusty California desert mingle with glints of gold in this elegant boho-chic look. This necklace is wonderful for a day in the sun, a casual evening out and anywhere in between.

Step-by-Step Instructions Expand All Steps

To create the chain strand, cut a 19-inch length of satin Hamilton gold-plated flat oval cable chain. Attach a Nunn Design gold-plated pewter cross arch charm to the center link using a gold-filled 14K 4.6mm open jump ring. Set aside for now.

To create the beaded rectangle charm for the beaded strand, create two rows of ladder stitch nine beads wide using the Miyuki 8/0 round seed beads in matte metallic copper. Glue this into the Nunn Design gold-plated pewter itsy rectangle pendant using Super New Glue and allow to dry. Attach to a jump ring and set aside for now.

Glue a JBB 6mm antique brass hammered end cap to the top of the Leather Cord USA saddle brown small nappa leather tassel, allowing for the loop at the top to come out of the end cap, and let dry. Attach a jump ring to the loop in the leather and set aside for now.

Fill the Nunn Design gold-plated pewter itsy bottle with glue-on channel top with 3mm Bicone Hot Cocoa Designer Blend beads. Glue the top onto the bottle and allow to dry. Attach a jump ring to the bottle and set aside for now.

To create the beaded strand, cut a length of jewelry wire approximately 30 inches long. Slide a 14/20 gold-filled 2x2mm crimp tube onto the end, followed by a jump ring. Bring the wire back through the crimp tube to form a loop around the jump ring. Crimp in place. Add the following bead pattern to the strand:

One matte metallic copper seed bead
One JBB 4.9mm antique copper-plated pewter daisy spacer
One TierraCast antique copper 5mm coiled heishi spacer
One daisy spacer
One matte metallic copper seed bead
Three pearls from the 4mm Crystal Pearl Decadence Designer Blend
One matte metallic copper seed bead
Five beads from the 4mm Bicone Hot Cocoa Designer Blend
One matte metallic copper seed bead
Three crystal pearls

Repeat this pattern four times.

Add a matte metallic copper seed bead to the strand, followed by a daisy spacer, a coiled heishi spacer, a daisy spacer and another seed bead. Slide the bottle charm onto the strand, followed by seed bead, a pearl and a seed bead. Slide the tassel charm onto the strand, followed by a seed bead and a pearl. Add the Nunn Design gold-plated pewter hummingbird charm to a jump ring and slide it onto the strand. Add a seed bead to the strand, followed by the ladder stitch charm. Make a mirror image of the bead pattern on the other side of the strand. Slide a crimp tube onto the end of the strand, followed by a jump ring. Bring the strand back through the crimp tube and crimp in place.

To finish your necklace, open the jump ring on one end of your beaded strand. Add the end of the chain strand, then add half of the TierraCast antique copper heirloom clasp set. Close the jump ring. Repeat this step on the other end of the bead strand.
