When fishermen cast their nets out into the sea, they never know what treasures they may capture. This necklace captures the beauty of gemstones and pearls in a knitted focal full of warm and elegant colors. The knitted wire keeps the treasures of the sea and earth in place, just like a fisherman's net. Learn how to make this necklace and show off your own beaded treasure.
Use the Clover French knitter to create a 4 1/4-inch section of beaded knit. You will be using the head with four pegs and you will be knitting the 5-6mm warm tone potato pearls, the Dakota Stones prehinite 8x10mm tumble nugget beads and the Dakota Stones prehinite 4mm round beads in a random pattern onto beading wire. Secure the ends of the knitted section so that they do not unravel by weaving the wire through the loops a few times. Make sure to leave extra wire to attach to the chain.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
