Earrings

String a 8mm faceted round in Fern Green onto a 2-inch gunmetal-plated 21 gauge open jump ring. Create a wrapped loop at the top of the bead.

Cut a length of 4x2.5mm matte black-plated crimped ovals chain approximately 13 links long. Attach one end to an open loop on one side of the Tierrcast black finish pewter empire link using a 4mm 21 gauge matte black-plated open jump ring. Attach the other end of the chain to the open loop on the other side of the link using another jump ring. Add the Fern Green dangle to the center loop of the link using a jump ring.

Attach the top loop of the link to a TierraCast black niobium plain earwire. Repeat steps 1-3 to create the other earring. ,

The Pumpkin

Find a decorative pumpkin at your local craft store. Ours is approximately six inches in diameter. The size of your pumpkin will determine how much WireLace you need to decorate it. Cut eight 1-foot lengths of the 6mm black WireLace ribbon. WireLace can fray, so twist the end of each piece tightly and dab with Gem-Tac adhesive. Allow to dry.

Stretch and shape each piece of WireLace to your liking. They will shrink in length as you stretch and shape them, so if they end up too short to decorate your pumpkin, just pull on them lengthwise until they are the right length. Pin the eight strips of WireLace to the pumpkin. One end will be pinned near the stem of the pumpkin, while the other end will be pinned on the underside. Regular flat head sewing pins work great for this.

Cut a round of bead backing or felt large enough to cover all of the pinnings on the bottom of the pumpkin. Glue the felt to the bottom of the pumpkin. Place a dab of glue on the top of each strip of WireLace to reinforce the connection and allow to dry.

Stretch out and shape the yard of 12mm black WireLace ribbon. Coil it around the stem of the pumpkin, hiding the raw edges of the WireLace strips decorating the pumpkin. Create a layered effect with the 12mm WireLace by folding the ribbon down the middle and gathering the folded edges with thread. Tack and glue the WireLace in place and allow to dry.

We used Black 18 gauge Artbeads Designer Wire to make the coiled tendrils and earring holders on the pumpkin. Wrap your wire around a felt marker and then tighten the ends of the coils with a pair of round nose pliers. Use chain nose pliers to push the ends of the wire into the pumpkin to your liking. Now you can display your earrings on the pumpkin
