Happy Bluebird Necklace Tutorial

Cut an individual setting away from the 12mm antique silver Rivoli cup chain. Add an antique silver Rivoli cup chain end loop to each end. See our video tutorial for help with this. Add a 12mm Rivoli in Crystal Azure Blue Shiny to the setting. See the above video for help placing the stones. Repeat this step for another individual setting.

How to Use Rivoli Cup Chain

String the 46mm blue bird on black background decoupage square pendant onto a 2-inch gunmetal-plated 20 gauge eye pin. Make a simple loop at the top of the bead. Open the loop at one end and attach one of your individual Rivoli settings. Close the loop. Do the same with the other loop at the other end of the bead.

Cut a length of Rivoli cup chain six settings long. Add an end loop to each end. Place an Azure Blue Rivoli into each of the first two settings, then add a 12mm Rivoli in Crystal Mint Green Shiny to each of the next two settings. Add an Azure Blue Rivoli to each of the last two settings. Repeat this step for another length of six settings.

Attach one end of one six-setting chain to the individual setting at the top of your pendant using a 4.5mm gunmetal-plated 21 gauge open jump ring. Attach the other six-setting chain to the top of the pendant using another 4.5mm jump ring.

Cut three strips of the hand-dyed silk ribbon in Mediterranean blue approximately 3-5 inches long each. Do the same with the 32 inch turquoise silk ribbon. Fold your strips of ribbon in half. Open the loop of an eye pin and add your folded ribbon strips. Secure them with the opened loop by wrapping it around the ribbon folds. Slide the eye pin through a 10mm antique silver-plated pewter raised flower end cap to secure the ribbon inside the end cap. Make a simple loop at the top of the end cap.

Open the loop at the top of the tassel and add it to the bottom of your pendant. Close the simple loop, making sure the end of the wire is tucked inside the end cap for a secure hold.

Cut a length of turquoise silk ribbon in half. Slide an 8mm gunmetal-plated 20 gauge eye pin onto the end of one half. Fold the end down around the jump ring. Cut the loop off of an eye pin and use the wire to wrap the end of the ribbon securely to the jump ring. You can hide one end of the wire inside the fold of the ribbon. Attach this half of the ribbon to one end of the necklace using a 5mm gunmetal-plated 18 gauge open jump ring. Repeat this process for the other half of the ribbon.
