National Garden Month – Jewelry Inspired by Our Gardens

Mulberry Bush Color Party

April is National Garden Month, so it’s the perfect time to start gardening and start making jewelry inspired by your garden. As they say, April brings showers and those showers result in glorious flowers filled with vibrant spring color. We here at Artbeads are often inspired by flowers and their colors when we make jewelry. Take a look at some of the pieces from our Design Studio below for garden-inspired jewelry you can make yourself.

Poppy Fields Ring

Artbeads Chief Jewelry Designer Cynthia is often inspired by gardens when she creates jewelry. She made this peyote stitch ring after visiting her sister in France and snapping a picture of the amazing poppy fields there. The TOHO Treasure seed beads capture the colors of the flower fields beautifully.

Garden Inspired Jewelry

If you're an avid gardener or an aspiring plant lady, that passion can shine through in many of your jewelry pieces. Get inspired by our Delia necklace, which features sweet rows of Forget-Me-Not Flower beads lined up on top of a herringbone focal, just like the rows of blooms in flower beds. Enameled Gardanne Beads bead caps add the floral touch to our Forever earrings. They make us think of the delicate primrose blossoms that are starting to appear in gardens. Our Orchid Garden necklace is inspired by one of our favorite flowers.

Buttercup Blues

Becky has always loved the cheerful look of buttercups and wants to add some to her garden. This boho jewelry set makes her think of the sweet look of buttercup flowers blooming up at a gorgeous spring sky. Once she plants some buttercups, she can wear this set while she waits for them to bloom!

Southwest Garden

Maybe rock gardens and hardy cactus and succulent plants are more your style? This necklace makes us think of the amazing gardens you can create in the Southwest. The TierraCast components bring in the floral accents and the Artbeads Designer Gemstone Blend adds in the perfect mix of red desert earth tones and flowing water blues. The star-cut gemstones definitely have a rocky feel.

Flowers in Resin

You can even bring small clippings from your garden into your jewelry! Becky Nunn of Nunn Design shows you how in our video tutorial all about embedding organics into resin. Find some pretty petals and buds or leaves with interesting shapes in your garden and make jewelry unique to you!

We hope these ideas have inspired you to look to your garden for jewelry inspiration.
