The artisan heart pendant in this necklace is made by Marianne Kasparian. I've had it for a long time and finally found the perfect beads to pair with it. You can easily adapt this design to feature a favorite pendant of your own.
One-of-a-kind pendants call for one-of-a-kind style. Cynthia found this pendant at a bead show and was saving it for a special design. The beads in this necklace are the perfect backdrop for the unforgettable pendant. The textured TierraCast beads and spacers tie in with the handmade look of the pendant, while the Swarovski pearls and Czech glass roundels complement the colors of the piece. The flowers bring a sweet balance to the edgy style. You can see more of this piece and other ideas using Swarovski in this Artbeads Cafe episode.
Cut a length of jewelry wire approximately 21 inches long. Add a TierraCast 2x2mm black finish crimp tube to the wire, followed by a 6mm antique silver-plated 18 gauge open jump ring attached to half of the TierraCast black finish pewter large tapered clasp set. Bring the wire back through the crimp tube and crimp in place.
Repeat the pattern once and then add a Jardin bead, a Turkish spacer, a flower bead, a Turkish spacer, a Jardin bead, and five Czech glass rondelles.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
